Welcome to the 73-Hour Film Festival!
Two winning films will be decided through a Judges Pick and an Audience Pick. This year's first place teams will have their short films featured at the Sedona International Film Festival. The teams will also receive passes to the festival so they can see their film on the big screen! Additional prizes will be awarded for other contest participants.
Rules and Regulations:
- Teams of up to 5 NAU students will be able to write, shoot, and direct their short films that will not exceed more than 5 minutes.
- The teams will have 73 hours to complete their films beginning on Friday, November 14th at noon, and the films MUST be submitted to the 73-Hour Film Fest box in the Student Media Center no later than 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 17th.
- Teams are encouraged to be as creative as possible, but must keep films in good taste. The judges have the right to not show a film if it does not meet that standard (aka nudity, sex, and illegal substances).
- Each film may not exceed 5 minutes in length and must adhere to the theme and incorporate a line of dialogue that will be provided to each team via email and text at the start of the competition Friday at noon.
- MUST be turned in on a USB drive (.MOV) and be clearly labeled with team name and title of film. You must also have the UTV62 Talent Release Form filled out for each of your actors and a still image from your film (all application paperwork located at bottom of page).
- ALL talent in your films MUST have a release form filled out. Both can be found as attachments at the bottom.
- Applications for teams (which can be found attached to this site) must be submitted by Monday, November 10th to Donna Kelley at [email protected] or in the Student Media Center's Film Festival Drop Box.
- Teams will receive an e-mail and text message Friday, November 14th by 12:00 p.m. stating the theme, and one specific line to be used in the film. This will be a critical part of the judging criteria for the films. From then on, the film making process can begin!
Thank you for your interest and we look forward to seeing your work!! Please feel free to contact us with any further questions.
